What Is A2 Key?

Cambridge English: A2 Key (KET) helps students move from beginner to early intermediate level.
It’s ideal for learners who can already use simple English and want to understand and communicate in real-life situations.

At this stage, students begin to express opinions, describe experiences, and interact more naturally.

Skill Development

Reading: Short articles, messages, and stories.

Writing: Simple emails, notes, and short paragraphs.

Listening: Everyday conversations and short announcements.

Speaking: Asking and answering questions, role plays, describing pictures.


Exam Expectations (Optional)

If your child takes the A2 Key (KET) exam:

  • Reading and Writing (70 mins): Understanding short texts and writing short messages or emails.
  • Listening (30 mins): Understanding the main idea and details in short recordings.
  • Speaking (8–10 mins): Talking with a partner about familiar topics and pictures.

Please note, I do not provide the exam, and only teach the lesson materials.


Prior Knowledge Needed

Students should already understand basic English grammar and vocabulary — usually from completing A1 Movers or an equivalent beginner course.
