Hello and welcome! I’m Heather, a qualified and experienced teacher who specialises in helping children feel confident, capable, and motivated to learn.
Whether your child is learning English as an additional language, needs support with reading and writing, or would benefit from extra help across the curriculum, I create lessons that meet them exactly where they are — and guide them forward with kindness and structure.
I believe learning should feel positive, calm, and achievable. My role is to help every child find their strengths, overcome challenges, and develop a genuine love of learning.
My Background and Qualifications
I have spent many years working in education, supporting children both in schools and online. My academic background and training have given me a strong understanding of how children learn best, and how to help them reach their full potential — academically and emotionally.
My qualifications include:
- Master’s Degree in Educational Practice and Research
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies — including a module in Child Psychology
- TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Qualification
I have also completed specialist training in:
- Senior Mental Health Lead – leading wellbeing provision and supporting the emotional needs of pupils.
- Positive Behaviour Management (Lead Practitioner) – delivering staff training and embedding calm, respectful learning environments.
- Dyslexia Awareness and SEND Training – as a former SENDCo, I’m experienced in adapting teaching for a range of needs and learning styles.
This combination of qualifications and real-world experience allows me to support the whole child — not just academically, but emotionally and socially too.
